* "Biking Events vzw" has been created in the autumn of 1998. One year later a famous 9 days during mountainbike-trip throughout the "Low Countries" was given birth. For several years the LCMT continued to be a long week mountainbike adventure, starting in the Netherlands (the 'hilly' Limburg), crossing the famous Ardennes (with Houffalize, well known from the World Cup Cross Country) and the difficulties of the Tour of Flanders in order to finish at The Panne Beach (North Sea). A few years later, it became clear that to improve the popularity (accessibility!) of the Low Countries' Mountainbike Tour, a 4 days during tour in the real Ardennes was already well enough. It enlarged the number of participants to the 350 - 400 that nowadays are accepted.

We want to promote healthy sporting and adventure for everybody who does respect nature and his environment. Biking Events is also organizing the 1 day Marathon, called: the HOUFFALIZE MOUNTAINBIKE MARATHON (or shortly "HOUFFAMARATHON") at the end of August and also in summer the FLANDERS FIELDS CLASSIC (in the region of World War I). Earlier we had a very beautiful road classic, called "Freddy Maertens Classic". Bad weather conditions on three occasions forced us to abandon this project.
